About Us

Consorzio Promovetro di Murano was founded in 1985. Over the years, it has become an important consortium, including among its members the two main trade associations in the glass sector: Confartigianato Venezia and Confindustria Veneto Est. It currently represents over 30 artisan and Murano companies.

Promovetro’s activities focus on participating in major national and international trade fairs, organizing trade missions in Italy and abroad, creating significant image exhibitions and events, and stipulating commercial agreements with service companies, among other tasks. The consortium coordinates and supports its member companies in every need.

Last but not least, Promovetro is committed to guaranteeing the quality and originality of its products.

Since its inception, Promovetro has been dedicated to enhancing the image of Murano artistic glass with the aim of conserving, guarding, and defending the thousand-year-old art of Murano glass. At the same time, it promotes, enhances, and ensures the correct marketing of this important cultural heritage worldwide.

In 2001, the Veneto Region entrusted Promovetro with the worldwide management and promotion of the “Vetro Artistico di Murano” mark (L. Veneto Region n. 70, dated 12.23.1994).

Only companies that produce artistic glass on the island of Murano according to criteria consistent with traditional Murano processing techniques can request this certification. If authorized by the Veneto Region, they become concessionaire companies of the Vetro Artistico® Murano mark.

For this reason, Promovetro can rightfully be considered one of the main custodians of Murano artistic glass production. Its greatest strength lies in the exclusivity and creativity of its master glassmakers and the “Vetro Artistico® Murano” mark, which serves as a guarantee for customers worldwide.

In addition to promoting the art of Murano glass and the work of its member companies, the Promovetro Consortium offers services related to the world of artistic glass. For example, in collaboration with a company specialized in cultural visits, the Consortium organizes tours to explore the world of Murano glass.

Furthermore, the Promovetro Consortium is equipped with a furnace and a “muffola,  which are provided for events to demonstrate glass processing, upon request by the organizers. Another activity of the Consortium is restoration. By bringing together over 30 companies, we offer solutions for the restoration, replacement, or remaking of damaged glass parts or elements.
