Seguso Gianni Murano

One generation after another, the Seguso family keeps the art of glass alive: an art which, contrary to what one might think when admiring the graceful elegance of the finished object, takes place in extreme conditions. Between fire, sweat, maximum physical and mental concentration. A material approach that has remained identical for ten centuries and which forges masterpieces of unique value.
Gianni Seguso, owner of the artistic glass factory of the same name, remembers his beginnings alongside his father: “I was lucky enough to grow professionally with him, who knew how to do everything, just think that he became a glass master at just sixteen years old. In his maturity he created all sorts of objects, including glass sculptures designed by famous artists, but above all splendid chandeliers”.

These few sentences contain the philosophy of Gianni Seguso who, following his father’s example, decided to believe and invest in young people, training under his watchful eye the Masters who today work in his glass factory. Masters who, while enjoying the widest freedom of expression, operate in an area always marked by quality, a fundamental requirement and unmistakable “signature” of all production.

If among the creations of the glassworks classical objects stand out (how not to mention the prestigious and well-kept “Ca’ Rezzonico” style chandeliers), great attention is dedicated to the free search for new ideas and shapes. Thus the ancient heart of tradition, represented by a skilful gesture which is still considered here as an indispensable heritage of the Masters, is combined with the desire for creativity and continuous renewal. To bring new life to the thousand-year-old art of Murano glass.
