Renting Furnace

The Promovetro Consortium provides a furnace and a muffle (or annealing furnace) for events, allowing live demonstrations of glass processing. These facilities can be made available by prior arrangement with the event organizers. The equipment is regularly serviced and inspected to ensure the highest standards of safety during demonstrations.

The oven and muffle are versatile and can be set up in both indoor and outdoor venues, pending a safety compliance check by the organizers. The Consortium collaborates closely with Effetre Murano for the supply of raw glass (cotisso) and relies on CRL Costruzioni Meccanica srl, a leading company with over 40 years of experience in Murano, for maintenance. CRL’s staff also oversees each event to ensure the ovens operate flawlessly.

In addition to providing the kiln, the Promovetro Consortium can arrange transportation and gas cylinder supply if local gas systems are unavailable. However, the arrangement of master glassmaker services is the responsibility of the event organizer.

Recent Projects

Salone Alto Artigianato di Venezia

The Promovetro mobile furnace was present at the first edition of the “Salone alto artigianato di Venezia”, which was held at the Arsenale of Venice from 28 September to 1 October 2023. The master glassmakers of Murano took turns in front of the furnace throughout the duration of the event, enchanting the public present with their works.

The Floating Furnace

On the occasion of “The Venice Glass Week 2023” the Promovetro Consortium, in collaboration with Select, set up a real floating furnace, placing the furnace on a transport boat docked close to the Rialto bridge. For 6 evenings the master glassmakers of Murano amazed the large audience for the more unique than rare opportunity, to see the art of Murano glass in the unsolid and spectacular setting of the Rialto.
