Tommasi
The Tommasi family has been working with glass in Murano for three generations since 1933. The art and production techniques of our products are secrets that have been passed down from father to son in our family for three generations. The continuous updates in design, attention to marketing, and the growing number of customers relying on our company have made our brand one of the main reference brands in the artistic sector of Murano and Made in Italy worldwide.
In an alchemy of minerals and fire, glass is born from sand in an infinite myriad of colors and shades. From one crucible comes aquamarine, from another emerald, ruby, topaz, amber, amethyst, and so on—all the wonderful gems that nature provides are imitated in Murano glass.
Murano, an island in the Venetian lagoon, whose glass is sought after worldwide for its beauty, quality, workmanship, and value. Murano is a place where, for centuries, all the secrets of artistic glass processing have been kept.
However, in the creations of Tommasi Murano Glass, you will find, along with the ancient techniques that require great mastery, a creative and innovative aesthetic sense that makes these creations current—not objects of the past but true creations of the most exclusive contemporary fashion.
A topaz is forged in fire together with gold, an aquamarine with silver, an emerald with aventurine, and everything is born as if by magic from a few simple gestures of the hands of the master who shapes the glass, giving it its form. The glasses are assembled and fused together in a formidable fantasy of colors to create the famous millefiori murrine, which are then set on precious silver frames. Simply calling them glass doesn’t seem right to us; we prefer to call them glass jewels.
